Power Rangers Super Lightning Force Ongoing Story Episode 3.

The team continues their search for a new Pink Ranger, but one has not been found yet. Billy has been unable to contact his Earth or any incarnation of Zordon through the Morphin Grid. Xander has been working feverishly to rebuild his own Morpher and convince the Triceratops Zord to reconfigure into the new Megazord formation.

It’s a difficult time for our heroes.

Billy Cranston from Earth 011 and Alpha Four are running HQ. Zordon has disappeared completely. Olivia’s Green Ranger powers are waning more with every battle. The Lightning Sword gives one Ranger access to Super Mode at a time. The old Zords are changing.

Meanwhile, on the other side of things, Kronus has retreated to Earth’s moon following an intense battle with the Rangers and the near loss of the Triumvirate battle cruiser. He is now teleporting his minions and the Evil Ranger down to Earth to cause havoc as often as possible. Rumors of a greater evil force deep in space have come to Kronus’ attention, forcing him to accelerate his plans to conquer Earth.

A hit team is sent to Bennett’s Cove High School to capture Olivia Thomas.

Objectives:

  • Prevent Olivia from being captured and taken to the moon.
  • Defeat the hit team putties while protecting the school without any students getting hurt.
  • Protect their secret identities.
  • Keep Olivia from having to Morph.

Kommandon will be accompanied by 12 regular Putty Patrollers. Their mission is to scare the student population while two of them and Kommandon grab Olivia.

IF Kommandon is successful, Olivia will be detained in suspended animation while the mysterious Dark Phoenix Ranger and Voltrix study her morpher in order to copy it free of the degradation effect by exploiting the Zeo Crystal’s powers. The end result will be an ultra powerful Evil Green Ranger.

After they acquire the Morpher and finish their examination, Olivia will be teleported back to Earth (unharmed) without it.

IF Kommandon is unsuccessful, he will teleport back to the moon as soon as it looks as if the mission has failed. He will keep coming back until he succeeds. The Rangers will have to be extra cautious not to let Olivia get nabbed.

However, if the Rangers get wise, they could use this as an opportunity to get a better look at the base on the moon.

This is one of the rare episodes where the Zords don’t get a workout. However, if time runs long, Kronus will send a replicated Tankzor to Earth just to distract the Rangers while he plots his next move.

Power Rangers Super Lightning Force

A lot has happened since we left our team. Zordon has disappeared into the Morphing Grid, leaving Alpha Four and Billy Cranston from Earth 011 in charge. Somehow the Grid brought a different Billy through than was originally thought, but he is incredibly smart. Kronus has gained control of the Zeo Crystal while the Rangers gained control of the Ninja Steel.

Moving into a new season with lots of developments.

A lot has happened since we left our team. Zordon has disappeared into the Morphin Grid, leaving Alpha Four and Billy Cranston from Earth 011 in charge. Somehow the Grid brought a different Billy through than was originally thought, but he is incredibly smart. Kronus has gained control of the Zeo Crystal while the Rangers gained control of the Ninja Steel.

With the Zeo Crystal under his control, Kronus gained the ability to expand his evil Ranger empire beyond the Evil Phoenix Ranger. Voltrix has come back to act as his new general. There are now five total evil Rangers, each with their own Zords.

To make matters worse as the season opens, the Rangers have taken a serious beating during the final battle with Tankzor 3.0. All of the Zords are seriously damaged and in bad need of regeneration time. The Rangers themselves barely managed to escape before disabling the Triumvirates’ space cruiser and sending it on a one way trip to nowhere.

Olivia, the Green Ranger, was exposed to a harsh amount of ionizing temporal energy during the last moments of the battle near the cruiser’s reactor core. Her ability to stay morphed has been impaired dramatically and appears to be steadily getting worse.

The Blue Ranger suffered a worse fate when the splitter emitters that separated the Ninja Steel from the Zeo Crystal pulled his armor from him and destroyed his morpher completely. Luckily, Billy brought his Triceratops Morpher and gave it to Xander. After some trial and error, the Dinozord emerged from the Morphin Grid ready for battle.

Finally, Rose the Pink Ranger suffered serious wounds at the hands of the Evil Phoenix Ranger. Her Power Crossbow was taken from her and is now being manipulated into the Evil Phoenix Crossbow. After her injuries heal, she plans to turn in her Morpher and leave the team.

Stay tuned for the dramatic return of Power Rangers Super Lightning Force!

Will Olivia ever be able to morph again? What happened to Zordon. Why did the Morphing Grid send a different Billy? Will Rose leave the team forever? Keep an eye open for Season 2, coming to my blog soon.

The Ongoing Battle: A Scenario for Power Rangers RPG.

A cloned Ranger survived or was reborn from the ashes and is now known as the Evil Phoenix Ranger. She commands a newly formed Tankzor.

Something big is on the horizon.

Last time on Power Rangers: Lightning Force. Zordon and Alpha Four worked feverishly to contact Billy Cranston of Earth They succeeded, but a newly merged Triumvirate, known simply as Kronus found the Zeo Crystal. A cloned Ranger survived or was reborn from the ashes and is now known as the Evil Phoenix Ranger. She commands a newly formed Tankzor.

The combined brain power of two Blue Rangers now work to unlock more power from the Morphing Grid. General Corby has become an uneasy, yet unexpected ally to the Rangers, offering the original Zord Alone Project schematics for use in creating a new Zord and forming a new Ultrazord. Zordon has disappeared from his holofield and Alphour is unable to locate him.

With the Zeo Crystal and the secrets of Ninja Steel hanging in the balance, it’s up to the Lightning Force Rangers to once again save Bennet’s Cove from certain destruction. To make matters more complicated, the Rangers’ powers have begun to fluctuate and appear to be weakening with each fight.

Another Threat or Threats lurk in the background.

Rangers- the implications of this new threat are indeed disturbing. The military is in possession of a multidimensional portal device. Alpha- Access the Morphing Grid dimensional communications grid. Contact Billy Cranston, Blue Ranger of Earth Prime and inform him of our situation. Ask him to come here via the Morphing Grid.

Rangers- When Billy arrives, he will help us locate the Zeo Crystal. It contains power sufficient to defeat these new threats. Until then, it is up to you and your Megazord to defend Bennet’s Cove from Tankzor. Good luck. May the Power protect you.

G.I. JOE the RPG Review.

In honor of our hard workin, hard fightin real life American heroes, I thought I’d do my long overdue review of GI JOE the RPG from Renegade Studios. I have literally waited 40 years for this game to be made officially.

HAPPY FOURTH of JULY!

In honor of our hard workin, hard fightin real life American heroes, I thought I’d do my long overdue review of GI JOE the RPG from Renegade Studios. I have literally waited 40 years for this game to be made officially. It’s at the top of my list next to Power Rangers and Transformers. I was so stoked when I saw these three games on Kickstarter a couple of years ago.

The dream has been realized minus Transformers. I see it’s been moved to Q04 of 2022. (What the heck, guys?) I mean, how many of us want to someday realize the GI JOE/Transformers crossover we’ve been dreaming about for decades? I know I’m not alone.

I think nostalgia is the primary appeal of GI Joe. All of us who ever ran games from other systems who always wanted an official Joe RPG for the last 40 years or so finally got our wish. I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of my old favorite characters, vehicles, and weapons from the action figures and the cartoon in print.

This has been four decades in the making. YAY!!!

Essence20 keeps getting better.

Renegade is becoming a very solid company when it comes to game design. I still think Power Rangers RPG is a little shaky under the same system, but the writers have gotten better with GI Joe. Everything flows together with the system so far and I’ve had no hiccups creating characters thusfar.

Renegade also provides downloadable character sheets and prefilled sheets for some noteworthy characters such as Duke and Scarlet. My hat’s off to the writers for being more ready up front with this game. It’s very well put together.

Combat can be as cartoony or as meaty as you’d like.

I was glad to see the discussion of weapon damage being a group consensus. The group can decide to treat it like the 1980’s cartoon with the pew-pew lasers set on stun and parachutes that always deployed. Or they can make it gritty and realistic like a more modern military style game where getting shot is serious business and vehicles can explode with all occupants aboard.

Combat is a key element in this game and I’m glad to see a fairly thorough treatment throughout the book. Weapons are customizable. The vehicles are as cool as any toy playset ever made. Personally, I’m excited to see characters in jet packs and Trouble Bubbles.

The diversity of character options is stunning.

If you ever saw a character in the cartoon that you wanted to emulate or have a particular fan fiction character you want to play, this system has it covered. The same goes for Cobra, though. Anything the GM ever wanted to see Cobra get correct, they can do now. No more incompetent Cobra Commander or bumbling minions unless that’s how you want to play it.

The other neat thing is the sheer amount of character volume included in the core rules. You get to fight alongside Joe luminaries such as Duke, Snake Eyes, Sgt Slaughter, Jinx, Quick Kick and so many, many more. They even went so far as to give a full page treatment to the ones they didn’t have room for in the Core Book.

Oh no! They missed my favorite character! No worries.

One really nice touch they did throughout the game was the “Knowing is Half the Battle” segments that further define a rule or clarify a lot of potential questions. Another great moment came when I found the Perk: Kung Fu Grip. They even mention the historic origins of the name and Yo Joe! is a legitimate battle cry with in game effects. (Kind of like saying It’s Morphin Time or Autobots, Transform and Roll Out.)

I know I've mentioned before that art sells RPG books. The GI JOE RPG has some of the most gorgeous artwork of any RPG ever produced. Admittedly, they might have had a slightly easier time given the volume of art for the animated series and comics that accumulated over the years, but still. This game looks great! Good job team!

If I was ever waffling on whether or not to by this book, the layout and presentation along with the gorgeous artwork sells it.

The only thing I hope and pray for Renegade to do-

Renegade folx, if you see this, please hear my pathetic begging. There needs to be a sourcebook with more of the original Joes statted up. Of course there needs to be an extensive book of all the Joe vehicles. Please, please, please give us a solid Cobra sourcebook complete with characters, vehicles, weapons and cool science projects. If you really wanted to make this fanboy happy, please make a Sigma 6 sourcebook.

I give it 5 stars. Keep up the awesome work! Can’t wait to see Transformers.

Thank you all for stopping by. I appreciate it. Have a happy and safe holiday!

The “Zord Alone Project” for Power Rangers RPG.

That’s where things went wrong, horribly wrong. The Triumvirate was quick to take advantage of the situation, mind controlling the pilot and and sending the Zord on a rampage in Bennett’s Cove.

Inspired by their first encounter with the Rangers, the US Army decides to build their own Zord, and create a Power Ranger to pilot it.

Hangar Queen. Requires a lot of maintenance.
Not Really a Zord. Not linked to the Morphin Grid. Not actually sentient.
Nuclear Core. Can only be shut down from small engineering compartment behind the pilot seat. If not cooled and maintained, it will explode in a nuclear blast. 5 mile primary blast, 10 Mile secondary blast. 50 additional miles fallout damage.

For those unfamiliar, this Threat has inspiration from two sources.

The first is Blitzwing, the triple changer Decepticon from Transformers. He fits with the military theme and I’ve always liked the character. He’s a bad guy and just a little schizophrenic.

The other inspiration and the name was derived from one of my favorite episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion. This probably won’t be the last Evangelion reference I will do. I’ve always liked the angels from that series.

This Threat was inspired by the Jet Alone Project, which as a rival’s attempt to compete with Nerv by building their own EVA. Of course the whole thing backfired and Misato ended up inside the robot shutting it down before it went supernova.

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate you! Happy gaming.

She may be convinced to embrace compassion for the parents in the city below.
